Ouida Sparks' Obituary
Ouida S. Sparks, 88 passed away November 21, 2014. She was the daughter of Edgar Sanders Sr. and Winona Mae Sanders. She was an accomplished pianist who won back to back State competitions as a teenager. She enjoyed singing in the choir while a member of Union Ave. Baptist Church. Ouida retired from the VA Hospital after 30 years of service. While there she was named secretary of the year twice. She leaves behind a beloved daughter, Joy Sparks (Jim Burch Jr.), also a dearly loved sister, N. Ruth Lowery of Huntsville AL., one niece and two nephews. Oiuida had 5 “grand cats” over the years she adored; Trevor, Tessa, Fiona, Hannah and Jonah. She will be missed and her life was a true celebration. Any memorials may be sent to Memphis Humane Society and Friends of Memphis Public Library
