Ouida LaRisa Hearn's Obituary
Ouida Larisa Waters Hearn, 90, passed away on July 2, 2017. Quida LaRisa Waters Hearn was born on June 18, 1927, to Lou Alice Waters and Daniel Douglas Waters in Vivian, LA. She spent her younger years as a farm girl. Upon completing high school she moved to Chicago and worked for Western Union. on a train trip back to Chicago she met a younger sailor, Robert E. Hearn, whom she married on November 14, 1945. LaRisa spent the next 70+ years of her life in Memphis,TN.She was an accomplished seamstress and used her skills to create beautiful clothing, drapes and decorative items. LaRisa was an excellent cook trying many new recipes with which she delighted her family. She enjoyed gardening and she and her husband, Bob, boasted the prettiest yard in the neighborhood.An active member of Highland Street Church of Christ for over 30 years, she spent many Tuesdays with ladies group visiting nursing homes and doing hair for the elderly. Later, she was a member of White Station Church of Christ.Her family was everything to her. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren and later her great grandsons.She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.LaRisa is survived by her sons, Glen Edward Hearn (Ann) and Gary Wayne Hearn (Linda). Grandchildren: Gina Nickens, Melanie Rizer (Daniel) and Jeffrey Hearn (Heather). Great Grandhildren: Stephen Nickens and Brayden Hearn.Brothers: Bill Waters and Doug Waters.
