Orlando Cepeda Green's Obituary
Orlando Cepeda Green, affectionately know as Peda to family and friends, left us on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Orlando was the youngest son born to Thelma and George Green on September 4, 1967. Orlando is survived by his two brothers, Michael Green and Tyrone Green and his two sisters, Jacqueline Stone and Staffardnett Young. Orlando was the loving uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Orlando was a proud member of the US Marine Corp, a decorated Eagle Scout and a recipient of the NAACP Art Scholarship. In addition to his devotion for serving others, Orlando was a avid fan of the arts. He attended, the highly regarded, College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. While attending CCS, Orlando received numerous awards and recognitions for his automotive designs. Orlando enjoyed music, clothing design and various cultural events.
In addition to Orlando’s personal accomplishments, he was know by many as a kind and gentle person. Speaking his name brought a smile to the faces of all who knew him. Although Orlando was a man of few words, when he did speak, his words were reflective and insightful.
Orlando’s home coming will commence on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 with a viewing from 12:00 pm until 12:45pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5668 Popular Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. A private graveside service will follow.
