Olivia Hardy Rond's Obituary
OLIVIA HARDY ROND was born in Richmond, Virginia, on July 18, 1912, to Lawson Epps and Olivia Franck Hardy, and left this world a better place on January 10, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles A. Rond, III and also her son, Charles A. Rond, IV, and her sisters, Rose Rutledge, Gertrude Burford, Ruth Selph and her brother, Courtsworth Hardy. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Chris Rooke of Memphis. Also her beloved nieces: Ann Jones of Fairhope, AL, Shirley Cullom (Robert) of Arcadia, FL, Nancy Kubler (Fred) of Little Rock, AR, Marion McAden of Memphis, Sandra Gooch (Terry) of Hernando, MS and Nancy Hardy of Jackson, MS and her devoted great-nieces and nephews and their families. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, where she had taught Sunday School, and also sung in the choir, was an active member of Chapter B, PEO, and former member of the Exchange Club and the St. Nicholas Guild. She was an inspiration of thoughtfulness to both family and friends and her outer beauty was always a reflection of her inward spirit. She had a gift of love which she freely shared and we all benefited from that warmth. Our gratitude to her faithful caregivers: Delores Ann Gross, Katrina Johnson and LaTanya Faulkner and Crossroads Hospice and the staff of Allen Morgan Nursing Home. Memorial service will be Tuesday, January 15, 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward’s Chapel, Trezevant Manor with reception to follow at the Manor.
