Olivia Mattingly's Obituary
Olivia “Livy" Mattingly, quietly passed from our presence on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the age of 60.
She leaves her mother, Barbara F. Mattingly of Oxford, Mississippi; brothers Mitchell (Cindy) of Oxford, Mississippi and David (Cheryl) of Memphis, Tennessee. Niece, Camille Mattingly of Memphis, Tennessee. Nephews Baker Mattingly of Oxford, Mississippi; Austin Marks of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Townsend Warren of Los Angeles, California. Livy was preceded in death, by her father, Thomas J. Mattingly.
Livy was born on April 11, 1959 to Barbara Freeman Mattingly and Thomas J. Mattingly. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1981 with a degree in Education. She moved to her home state of Arkansas where she taught in the elementary school system for eight years. After moving to Germantown, Tennessee in 1991, Livy began working for her family’s business Metro Foods, Inc. There she joined her brothers to complete the family’s dynamics for its continued success.
Livy was accomplished at teaching, caring, and serving others. She was a generous individual who loved her family and friends and was passionate about caring for animals. Livy was a long-time member of Germantown Baptist Church.
A graveside service honoring Livy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 in the Memorial Park Mausoleum Rotunda, with a reception to follow at the Parkside Event Center. Pastor and family friend, Gary Clowers, will officiate the gathering. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Livy’s life.
