Olen Steppe's Obituary
Olen Waits Steppe, 88, passed away February 17, 2016. He was born November 27, 1927 in Oxford, MS. He was a Christian and a member of Cherry Road Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Western Electric Company after more than 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, “Jimmie” Katherine Y. Steppe; daughters, Pat Massey (Howard) and Kathy Hunter (Keith); sisters, Inez Hill and Elsie Riddle (Billy); brother, Charles Stepp (Marjorie); granddaughter, Michelle Casey; great-grandchildren, Patrick Brown, Brittanie Fuentes, Tricia King, and Haley King; and great-great-grandchildren, Kayden Hewitt, Aaron Brown, Hensley Prestage. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chris King. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and funeral services will 11 a.m., Saturday, February 20 at Cherry Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to Cherry Road Baptist Church, 1421 Cherry Road, Memphis, TN 38117.
