Though almost three years late, having just discovered today, April 5, 2020, of the passing of Ofelia, I wanted to share a thought and a prayer of thanks for her life, lived fully and well. This certainly comes as a shock. Ofelia was the kind of person whom one can't believe would not live forever. She freely gave me her unconditional friendship from 1975 onward when I worked in Memphis as a chaplain in the Memphis Institute of Medicine and Religion for a year. The last time I saw her was in the spring of 2010, when I briefly visited with her in Memphis. I am grateful for her friendship and for the life of service she gave as a nurse. I will remember her for the rest of my own life. I have no doubt the many whose lives she touched will as well. Travel well, Ophie. Thank you.
