Norman Vann Thomas' Obituary
Norman Vann Thomas, Jr., age 56 of Cordova passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Vann was a lifelong native of Memphis and Germantown. He graduated from Germantown High School in 1976 and attended Memphis State University. He worked in the Bond Business for over 30 years, having worked at Duncan Williams and Regal Securities. Vann was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Vann Thomas, Sr. and Barbara Thomas Manley and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.N. Wallace and Peggy Potter of Blountville, TN. He is survived by his children Norman Vann Thomas, III “Tripp” and Barbara Kaitlin Thomas of Memphis; brother, Robert W. Thomas “Gator” of Memphis; sisters, Elizabeth Thomas “Libby” of Atlanta, GA and Catherine Maness “Cathie” of Memphis; grandfather, Harold Potter of Blountville, TN and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 27 and the funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28 all at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
