Norman Rex Galloway's Obituary
Norman Rex Galloway, 90, passed away on May 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Galloway, and a son, Norman R. Galloway, Jr. He is survived by his two sons, David Galloway (Martha) of Ashburn, VA, and Stephen Galloway (Melanie) of Williston, TN, and his four grandchildren, Morgan, Ashley, Heather, and Miller Galloway.Rex was a US Army veteran of World War II who participated in the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day and continued across Europe in the Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns. He was employed by the Memphis Country Club for 35 years as an accountant and office manager. He is also remembered as a master wedding cake decorator and owner of MissMuff’n Bake Shoppe in Germantown, TN.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 17, at Collierville United Methodist Church, Sanctuary on the Square. Interment will be in Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery on Hacks Cross Rd. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Helping Children Worldwide (http://helpingchildrenworldwide.org/).
