Norma Leath Raessler's Obituary
Norma Leath Raessler, 95, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vester Raessler and two daughters, Sandra Green and Barbara Keller.
She is survived by her children, Robert Raessler (Anita), Rick Raessler (Deborah) and Rock Raessler (Leah), Karyl Hart (Doug), 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Norma was born in Quitman County Mississippi and after graduating high school in Marks Mississippi went to work for the Illinois Central Railroad where she met her husband, Vester. They were married for 38 years until his death in 1988. Later Norma worked in the Purchasing Department at Memphis State and retired in 1992. She was a member of First Evangelical Church and was active in the Triple L senior group. Norma loved others and in retirement started a pillow ministry where she made and gave away almost 200 comfort pillows with Bible verses to people going through trials. She used this ministry to share her love of Jesus with others.
Norma was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 8 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 9 at 10:00 am also at the funeral home. The committal service will immediately follow.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to First Evangelical Church.
