Norma Jean Fortune's Obituary
Norma Jean Fortune, 89, passed peacefully on April 21, 2022. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Audra Wain Fortune, and is survived by her son Phillip Fortune (Deb) and many nieces and nephews. After retirement from Holiday Inn as an insurance adjustor, Jean volunteered at Methodist Hospital and Baptist Memorial Hospital for 18 years. She found joy in watching the Memphis Tiger football and basketball teams, shopping, traveling, playing cards and visiting with family. However, she was still a big Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. She never lost her quick wit and all those that knew her, loved her sense of humor. Jean lived a full life and traveled the world with her husband. And spent her last years at Kirby Pines LifeCare community playing cardSs, watching movies and entertaining many visitors. She will be missed!
Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 12 – 1:00 pm, services to follow at 1:00 p.m. and small reception afterward at Memorial Park and Funeral Home & Cemetery at 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.
