Norma Hill Flowers' Obituary
Thursday, May 28, 2026, Norma Lee Hill Flowers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered her eternal home into the arms of her Savior. Norma was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 5, 1934, to Thomas and Irma Hill. She was blessed by the devoted love of her parents and grew up deeply rooted in her life long Baptist faith. On October 18, 1952, she married Bill Flowers at Temple Baptist Church beginning a union that would endure 73 years.
Norma poured her life into her family, church, and community. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1945. Her passion and love for the Lord led her to teach Girls In Action, VBS, and was active in many church youth activities. Norma's faith continued to grow through her participation in Bible Study Fellowship.
Norma carried on her Mother's Christmas tradition by continuing to host "Christmas Night" open house, and always served her Mother's secret grape and pineapple punch recipe to family and friends.
Norma was an exceptional bowler, who held the title for best competitive score in her age group. She played in both ladies and couples tennis leagues at Wyndyke and Chickasaw Country Clubs. She was a skilled bridge player. One of her most extraordinary achievements was mastering duplicate bridge. Norma volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at Methodist Hospital which lead to having three generations of Hill women serving in the auxiliary (Irma Zeirman Hill, Norma Hill Flowers, Sherry Hill Flowers Pioreck). Few people know that in her younger years Norma mastered the clarinet, was Miss Fire Prevention, and loved dancing the night away.
At the time of her death, Norma and her husband Bill attended Collierville First Baptist Church. Norma's family will forever be grateful to their church family for their unwavering love and support. Her dog and faithful companion, Charlie, was always by her side.
She is survived by her loving husband William Dallas Flowers "Bill", who was at her bedside when she went to be with the Lord; her children, William Dallas Flowers, Jr., and Sherry Hill Flowers Pioreck (Scott); her six grandchildren, Ashley Flowers Jamieson (Christopher), Shelley Flowers Plunk (Nathan), William Dallas Flowers, III (Merillat), Micah Pioreck Abernethy (Todd), Kirby Pioreck Dorrough (Will), and Tyler Andrew Flowers (Meghan); and her seventeen great-grandchildren.
Norma's legacy of love, faith, and joy lives on through her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Irma Hill, and her brother Tommy Hill, and her granddaughter Shey Kimberly Pioreck. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2 at 1:00 PM at Collierville First Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service honoring Norma's life at 2:00 PM .
The family has requested in lieu of flowers to consider making a donation to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville or Collierville First Baptist Church.
