Nell V. Lingua's Obituary
Nell Lingu 89, passed from this life on to the next to be with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her son, John F. Lingua, granddaughters: Samantha, Alyssa and Carly Lingua, and many nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish her memory.
Nell was a professional model for Vogue Magazine and several leading stores
including Lowensteins, King's Furs and Gerbers. She was coordinator for Winnie the Pooh children's line and charm school director for Sears. Nell was a leading force with Memphis police to establish a program with, "National Alliance on Mental Illness." She was a volunteer for: Blue's Ball, City Beautiful Commission, Memphis Gridiron, Italian Festival (UNICO) and Variety-theChildren's Charity. Nell loved traveling with a special love for New Orleans and its fine dining.
She was an avid cook. She loved preparing food for the Variety Club and special events.
Nell had a deep love for her close friends and family. She gave as much of herself to them as she
did for the organizations she was involved in.
Family will received friends and family from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. A full obituary will be posted as soon as one becomes available.
