Nannie Sue Lytle's Obituary
Philip L. Peeler, 81, of Memphis, died May 13, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Elinor Peeler, and by his daughter, Claire O’Brien, of Carmel, IN, and his son, Andrew Peeler, of Memphis. He leaves two grandchildren, Liam O’Brien and Luke O’Brien of Carmel, IN. Philip was a 1947 graduate of Central High School and held a bachelor’s degree and law degree from Vanderbilt University. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and retired as a Commander from the Naval Reserve. He served as president of the Downtown Lions Club; a member of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Mental Health Center; and Director of the Shrine Oriental Band. He was also a member of the Shrine Chanters and an avid music fan. Both the 12:30 p.m. visitation and 2:30 p.m. service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2010, at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Lions Club.
