Nancy Faye Scott's Obituary
Nancy Faye Scott, 88, of Collierville, Tennessee, died June 30, 2026, after an extended period of declining health.
Ms. Scott was born July 27, 1937 in Baldwyn, Mississippi. She and her family moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1940, where she graduated from Pensacola High School in 1956, and Pensacola Junior College in 1958. She graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree from Florida State University, and went on to earn a Masters degree from the University of West Florida. She excelled in a 40 year career as an elementary and middle school teacher in Pensacola and Tallahassee, Florida, as well as Richmond, Texas.
Ms. Scott is preceded in death by her parents, Roger Q. Scott and Lucy Sansom Scott, as well as her siblings Roger Q. Scott, Jr., Dale Scott Harrell, Lucy Scott Crawford and William (Bill) Scott.
She is survived by her three step children, Lisa Watts LaRue, Brad Watts and Meridith Watts Wirtz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children. The family is deeply grateful to “adopted” family members Barbara Richardson and Emma Yancey who provided wonderfully compassionate care for Nancy in the last years of her life.
Memorial gifts may be sent to the Roger Q. Scott Scholarship Fund at the University of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi, or the Lou Scott Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Pensacola State College, Pensacola, Florida.
