Nancy Barron's Obituary
Nancy Garmany Barron, 82, of Memphis, TN, passed away on April 11, 2026, peacefully.
Born on November 27, 1943, in Milan, TN. Nancy was the daughter of Dewitt and Imogene Garmany. She had one sibling, an older brother, Joe Garmany. Throughout her life, she was known for her independence, humor, and strong faith.
Nancy devoted 40 years working as the Registrar at the University of Memphis Cecil C Humphrey’s School of Law. She loved her job and made many lifelong friends. She always felt like her job to find her. Outside of work she found joy and spending time with her grandchildren having dinner parties and she loved to decorate. She would dream up of what she wanted everyone’s homes to look like she would always play gospel music while getting ready for church on Sunday mornings. She also loves the Grateful Dead and The Rolling Stones. Some of her favorite movies were “Risen”, “Pride and Prejudice,” “Sense and Sensibility.” She also loved all the mafia movies.
She is survived by her daughter, Garmany Mejia (George), granddaughter, Rachel Frazer (Matthew), grandson, Lucas Mejia, and two great-grandchildren Nathan and River.
