I met Morgan while married to my former husband, his brother-in-law. He was smart, funny and a good man. He performed the marriages of two of our daughters and he did the vow renewal for me and my husband. His death brought shock and sadness. RIP, my friend.
Morgan and I were in several classes together at MTS. He was a gifted musician and had the gift of discernment. Professor Kimberly Chandler from Xavier in New Orleans taught us Preaching On Your Feet during a summer intensive class. At the end of the class she told each one if us what our primary gift was and to make sure we used it to the fullest. She told Morgan he was wise. Everyone in the class nodded as she told him who he was.
It hurts to know that he is no longer with us. I used to walk over to his church Lindenwood (b4 he moved to Collierville Christian Church) across the street from Memphis Theological Seminary to seek his wisdom.
He loved his family first. What a loss for us and a gain for heaven.
Love and Peace are yours. Rest well good and faithful servant. Well done!
Morgan was an incredible man. He loved Jesus and he loved people. He made such a difference in so many lives. He will be truly missed.
I was fortunate to reconnect with Morgan a few years ago when my daughter and new son informed me that Morgan would be performing their wedding. Interesting how Morgan met my daughter, wearing batman pj bottoms shopping at Dillard’s; how they put two and two together, and discovered how all our lives were woven together. We met for dinner at Mollies to discuss the wedding and ended up closing the place down talking about our life journey, family, and old times. It was the first time we had seen each other in a few years and we kept in touch. Morgan deeply loves his family and our Lord. He loved life and now rests in peace with our savior.
Our sincerest condolences and prayers during your time of grief. May good memories of Morgan bring solace to you.
