Monica Wiegert's Obituary
Monica Wiegert, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 at her home on July 23, 2010 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewert and Signe Lestring of Falkenberg, Sweden, where she was born December 6, 1940. She is survived b y her husband, Hans O. Wiegert in 44 years of marriage, her beloved sons, Michael (Susan) and Paul. Her three granddaughters, Anna Grace, Elly and Olivia who were (and still are) the brightest shining lights of her life. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ingela and Jerry Eriksson of Tibro, Sweden, as well as other relatives and many friends. Monica moved to the United States in 1966, when she married her husband. During her married life, she was a devoted spouse, homemaker, and mother. From 1994 to 2006, she worked for Margareta Horn Designs. Monica was a gift to the human race. She had passion, a sense of humor, the ability to listen, teaching her grandchildren at an early age to color, draw, sing, telling stories they won’t forget and she had the determination to never give up. Undeniably, Monica was a great person. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
