Minnie Murrell Morrison Warr's Obituary
Minnie Murrell Morrison Warr – 98, Born July 15, 1911 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away in Dowling Park, Florida on March 25, 2010, following an extended illness. She was a retired Registered Nurse and a resident of Advent Christian Village, Dowling Park, Florida. She was a long time Memphis resident and active member of Buntyn Street Baptist Church and Audubon Park Baptist Church. During World War II, she was a US Navy nurse. She was a member of Eastern Star and American Red Cross. She was the eldest daughter of thirteen children of Levi A. and Sallie Morrison. She is survived by her son, John L. (Sandra) Warr, Fort White, Florida, granddaughter Gina (Stephen) Lawes, great-granddaughters, Riley and Abby Lawes, South Pasadena, California, grandsons Damien Spatharos, Las Vegas, Nevada; Doug Plock, Naples, Florida; Matthew (Barbara) Plock, great-grandson, Joshua Hermann and great-granddaughters Kali Plock and Brooke Hermann of Clearwater, Florida. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald L. (Nita) Morrison, Alexandria, Louisiana; and Samuel Ralph (Peggy) Morrison, Westlake, Louisiana; and her sisters, Loretta Starbard, Lynn, Massachusetts; and Barbara “Fern” (John) Moore, Clarksville, Georgia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaston W. Warr, her brothers Harry Morrison, Levi Morrison, Jr., John F. “Dutch” Morrison, Oliver Morrison and Jesse F.”Jake” Morrison, and her sisters Grace Hollingsworth, Lillian Parker, and Sallie”Sadie” Patin. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at 10:00 am, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
