Milton Elwyn McLellan's Obituary
Milton E. McLellan went to be with our Lord Jesus on May 18, 2024. He resided in Memphis, TN with his beloved wife of 67 years, Jo Anne. He was born on July 11, 1932, in Durant, Mississippi to the late Willie Byrd McLellan and Mildred Lorriane Dodd McLellan. He moved with his family to Memphis, TN in 1948. He graduated from Messick High School in 1950. Milton entered the United States Army on January 28, 1953, where he served his country for 3 years and achieved the rank, Sergeant. He fought for his country in the Korean War.
Milton married Jo Anne Musso at the Hernando Methodist Church on April 13, 1957. Together they raised their children, Milton Jr. and Rena, in Memphis, TN.
Milton worked as a firefighter for the Memphis Fire Department in his early adulthood. He spent the rest of his days working in the automobile business. He had a love and knowledge for cars that no one could match. In 1990 he opened Thomas Street Motors where he continued to work until his passing. He loved his place of business, enjoyed working with people, and cherished the fact it had become a family business with his son and grandsons working alongside him.
Milton was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the Highland Hundred athletic support club for his favorite University of Memphis Tigers from the 1950s through the 2000s. He rarely missed a Tiger football or basketball game. He and Jo Anne enjoyed almost all home games and travelled to most away games whenever possible.
In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death and will be reunited in heaven with his sister Joann and brother Willie.
Milton is survived by his wife Jo Anne and his children Milton Jr. and Rena McLellan Colling (Rick). He is also survived by his is beloved grandchildren Camryn, Alec and Ryan Booth.

The Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and again an hour prior the service on Friday starting at 9:00am in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00am in the Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
