Mildred Ellis Shackelford's Obituary
Mildred Ellis Shackelford died peacefully at her Memphis home on March 26, 2009. She was born to the late Belver and Lois Ellis Mitchell on June 13, 1921.She was a member of Highland Street Church of Christ. She was a floral designer who owned and operated White Station Florist and later owned the Log Cabin Antiques. She was also a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club. Her son, Allen Shackelford owned and operated Shackelford’s Florist.She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Shackelford in 1979, son Allen Shackelford in 1978 and a grandson, Michael Allen in 1987.She leaves her daughter Linda and her husband Jim Allen of Destin, FL; granddaughter, Stacy and her husband Jay Thompson of St. Louis, MO as well as two great-grandchildren. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Charline Shackelford and her son Hugh and his wife Erin Shackelford as well as her great-grandchild; Phillip and his wife Libby Shackelford and their children.Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. on March 29, 2009 with funeral services following at 1:30 p.m. All services and interment will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.Memorials may be sent to Lipscomb University located at 1 University Park Dr., Nashville, TN 37204.
