Mildred Griffin's Obituary
Mildren Fay Wilson Griffin, daughter of the late William Frank Wilson and Nellie Franklin Dowrey, passed away January 7, 2012 at home with family. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Brown of Memphis and brothers, Bill and Sam Wilson, of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was marrried sixty years to the late Lannie Baxter Griffin. They enjoyed many years of fishing at Maddox Bay, Arkansas. She worked for several years as a surgical technician at Methodist Hospital Central. She was active in the Zaman Grotto Auxiliary while her husband served as Monarch and enjoyed her many years as a volunteer in the Creative Arts Building at the Mid South Fair under Sue Cook. A member of Highland Heights Presbyterian Church, she is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Griffin of Oakland, TN, a son, Larry F. Griffin of Memphis, and a grandson, Joshua Baxter Greer of Memphis. To all who shared moments in life with her, your prayers and memories are appreciated. The family will receive friends Monday, January 9 from 5-7 p.m. and the funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 10 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
