Mildred Conaway Carroll's Obituary
MILDRED CONAWAY CARROLL went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 2, 2010. She was a resident of Martha Coker Greenhouse in Yazoo City, MS. She was 86 years of age. Mrs. Carroll was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 27, 1924, and had lived in Memphis most of her adult life. She moved to Yazoo City in 2006 to be near her daughter, Judy Patterson and family, after living for a while with her daughter, Peggy Shettlesworth and son-in-law, Charles in Bartlett, Tennessee. She was the daughter of George and Rose Conaway, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her beloved husand of 52 years, Joe Carroll and her sister, Babe Moate. She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Shettlesworth (Charles) of Bartlett, TN, Judy Patterson (Walter) of Yazoo Cith, MS and Lynda Savage (Sammy) of Memphis, TN. She also leaves five grandchildren, Susan Shettlesworth, Marty Shettlesworth, Kim Walton (Jim), Stefanie Dendy (Bryan) and Laura Caldwell (Tony), and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to being a wonderful Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mildred was an active member and church secretary for Berclair Baptist Church in Memphis for over fourty-one years. She also taught Sunday School and was beloved by so many Christian friends who stayed in touch with her after her move to Yazoo City. She is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Thursday, November 4, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N.
