Michael Lee Vernon's Obituary
Dr. Michael Lee Vernon, anesthesiologist, age 70, passed away May 18, 2016. He was born March 9, 1946 in New York City, New York to Frances and Leonard Vernon. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Dr. Vernon was a devoted husband and father and spent his entire life caring for other people. He is survived by his children, Brian Vernon, Laura Beth Russell (Scott), Jason Vernon (Melissa), and Ryan Miller (Kim); grandchildren, Lexi, Michael, Luke, Savannah, and Owen; and mother-in-law, Hazel Gardner. He was a trivia expert, loved basketball, and had a wonderful, sarcastic sense of humor. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 21 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 8816 Poplar Pike, Germantown, TN. Graveside services will immediately follow at Memorial Hill Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Faith Presbyterian Church.
