I remember Mike the most for his constant smile and friendliness. He became friends with the deaf community of Memphis while working at McAllister’s at Mendenhall & Poplar. He picked up American Sign Language quickly and wanted to learn the language in order to be able to communicate with the deaf while serving as a police officer in Nashville. I will never forget him, never forget his care and concern for others, and his wonderful attitude towards life. My heart goes out to his family; may they find strength and solace during this time of tragedy. Mike will be greatly missed by all those with whom he came in contact.
