Michael Henry Meyer's Obituary
MICHAEL HENRY “Mike” MEYER– Died peacefully at his home in Collierville on January 10, 2015. Son of the late Sherman and Jacklyn Meyer, he was born in Waco, Texas, on February 4, 1945. Mike graduated from Notre Dame University, and was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the infantry in Viet Nam in 1968-1969. Mike worked for many years as a marketing representative for the Eli Lilly Company and 3-M, and after retiring bought and managed Frank’s Liquors on Main Street, Memphis. He and his wife of 44 years, the former Charlotte Dawson, moved to Memphis in 1978. In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter Allison Paige White (Christopher) and his son, Alexander Dawson Meyer (David Cupp), both of Memphis, two brothers Tracey Meyer of Indonesia, and Tim Meyer of St. Petersburg, Florida, and grandchildren Caroline White and Henry White. His brother Christopher Meyer predeceased him. A lifelong Catholic, Mike belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was a communicant of the Church of the Incarnation in Collierville. Family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00p.m. On Thursday, January 15, 2015 with memorial service to immediately follow at 3:00p.m. All services will be held at the Church of the Incarnation in Collierville.
