Michael L. Kyle's Obituary
Michael Lynn Kyle, 78, of Bartlett died peacefully in his sleep on March 2, 2024. He was born November 24, 1945, to Thelma and Milton Kyle.
Mike, a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Gayle; daughter, Michelle; son, Brett; grandchildren David (wife: Sophie), Kyle, Marissa, Julie, and Ellie.
Upon graduation from Bartlett High School with the title of Most Attractive, Mike briefly went on to Arkansas State Teachers College to play football and then on to UT: Martin, where he sold his books for beer money and quickly returned back to Memphis. Mike met the love of his life, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin honoring the very vows she swore, Gayle Johnson.
Mike worked at Armour Meat Packing to support his family, with Gayle’s help, while attending Memphis State University. Upon graduation, Mike spent his career in commercial and residential construction.
Mike possessed a very strong sarcastic sense of humor which you may encounter with any of his children or grandchildren. He also had a unique sense of humor, which was likely cultivated from incidents similar to the time his parents moved and did not tell him they did so. Mike could tell a great story, often with a few artistic embellishments. His heart was kind and giving and he passed that on to his family as well.
Mike was truly proud of the man his daughter married, David Cantù and the woman his son married, Farrah Young. Family was important to Mike and he was fortunate enough to spend a good amount of time with each grandchild. You will notice each of them were very touched by him and felt his love without condition.
He was very loved and will be missed tremendously, but at least he feels no pain.
Memorial Services for Michael will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the services starting at 1:00pm.
