Michael Van Jolly's Obituary
Michael "Van" Jolly, 79, passed into Heaven on 12/4/25 and has rejoined his wonderful wife, Jo Anne, who passed away in May 2006. He is now in heaven with her & her parents, Roy and Anne Fears, and Aunt Dudie McCauguhn, and his parents, Jack and Ardele Jolly. Van leaves his wonderful daughter, Sheryl Wagner (Norman), his favorite son-in-law, who live in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He also leaves his two grandsons: he called them his Poppa Sons, Garrett & Cory, who are marines, his Poppa Daughter-in-law Kaitlyn, and his three great grandchildren, Genesis, Pearson, & Clark, his brother, Robert Wayne Jolly (Rita) passed away in March of 2024, and his two nephews, Kevin and Brad & their families.
Van was born on Sept. 18, 1946, and went to Treadwell High School, Class of 1964. He had a couple of careers - 20 years in broadcasting and then into the home building industry. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Collierville First Baptist Church where he served as a door greeter every Sunday morning. His real love is Jesus. Van and Jo Anne are together again and will be for all of eternity. His hobby was photography: he took many photos of trips to Alaska. Through his retirement years, he was a volunteer at several museums in Memphis. He always liked to tease people when he took photos of them at special events that he was shooting them with a "Canon".
Van is in heaven because he believed in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Now Van & Jo Anne are more Jolly than ever. There is no pain in heaven, and he wishes that everyone would pray to receive Jesus as their LORD & Savior!
