I just found an old email I sent to Dr. Gootzeit in October of 2005. I had been delayed in getting an assignment sent to him, but he had given me a lot of grace and flexibility. Now, 19 years later, I'm a professor myself and get similar emails from my students. I often think of his kindness when I respond to my students and offer the same as a way to pass it on.
Thank you, Dr. Gootzeit for your understanding, kindness, flexibility, and expertise! You made a greater impact than you know.
