Michael John Covington's Obituary
Michael John Covington was born December 29, 1948 and entered heaven at the age of 71 after COVID 19 took his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Fields Covington and Robert Conway Covington, a twin brother, Gary and baby Richard. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Gerry Covington.
Mike attended St. Dominick’s, St. Louis, CBHS and CBU. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to work for Case International Harvester designing cotton pickers and securing over 35 patents. He was passionate about his career. He supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital because he lost his twin brother to childhood leukemia. Mike was very supportive of all the service projects and interests in mission work that his wife was involved in. He did have one hobby, golf! Now he can get that desired Hole-In-One in heaven.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 19 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The burial will immediately follow.
