Melvin McCoy, born to Irvin and Lille McCoy on January 23, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 12, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. Melvin was an intrepid adventurer throughout his life. From his early days as a fashion model to his later years as a world traveler, Melvin saw unique opportunities everywhere he looked.
His inventive nature led him to patent the Mule, a device designed for long-distance hiking. He demonstrated his invention by hiking from California to Delaware, showcasing his relentless spirit and passion for exploration.
Melvin leaves behind Tanaka McCoy, who shared many of his travels and adventures throughout their marriage. He is also survived by his son, Antwone McCoy, and daughter-in-law, Tina, of Chicago, Illinois.
