Mell Frank McCarver's Obituary
Mell Frank McCarver, 91, of Memphis passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Methodist Germantown Hospital, and was followed in death two days later by his wife Judy. Mell was one of seven children born to Frank and Mamye McCarver. Mell was a retired 70 year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 474. He graduated from Memphis Catholic High School in 1944 and immediately enlisted in the US Army, serving with the US Occupation forces in Japan shortly after peace was declared. Mell and Judy were devout and faithful members of St. Anne Catholic Church Highland in Memphis. They are survived by children Melba Fristick (Tom), Patricia (Dhiresha) McCarver, Mary Anne Gianinni (Peter), Curtis Sigler (Paula), and Donald Sigler, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Mell was preceded in death by his former wife Mary Evelyn Driver McCarver. Visitation, beginning with the rosary at 5pm, will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5:30pm until 7:30pm on Monday, April 9. The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 10 at 1:00pm at St. Anne Church, 706 S. Highland with burial in Memorial Park.
