Maurice Jackson Kelley Sr.'s Obituary
Maurice Jackson Kelley Sr, (Jack, Pappy), 91 formerly of Memphis, TN, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on, July 9th, 2024. He has been a resident of Nashville/Brentwood/Franklin for the last 35 years. He is the husband of late Bobbie Jean Kelley, the son of late Harry and Gladys Kelley and brother of the late Jimmy Kelley.
Mr. Kelley graduated from Messick High in 1951 with his high school sweetheart Bobbie Jean Kelley. They married on February 28th, 1953.
He worked at South Central Bell for 35 years and worked for Concepts In Communication. He later worked for Mason Corporation building roller racers for children. He would pray for each child as he built these toys. Mr. Kelley was a Sunday School and Training Union teacher for 6th grade boys and a Deacon at Bellevue Baptist Church for many years. He studied and loved the Word of God and would share humbly with others the truth of God. (Jack/Pappy) always had a smile on his face and was a positive influence on everyone he met. We loved listening to his stories and the nuggets of truth he shared.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Kelley Ellis, daughter, Connie (Tim) Regal, sons, Maury (Raquel) Kelley; Michael (Rachel) Kelley, Pappy’s Grandchildren: Deanna (Stephen) Brown, Trey (Julie) Gardenhire, Caroline Kelley, Micah Kelley, Camille Kelley, Mary Manor Kelley, Christopher Kelley, and Kathleen Kelley; Great Grandchildren: Ellie Brown and Evan Brown, and 6 nieces and nine nephews.
The family would like to express gratitude to the Symphony Assisted/Memory Care and Aveanna Hospice for their kind and loving care for our Dad.
