Maureen J. Robinson's Obituary
Maureen James Robinson, age 90, of Memphis, TN and Lacey, WA passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018 surrounded by her adoring family. Maureen was born on February 18, 1928 in Turrell, AR. She was a proud alumni of St. Agnes Academy and St. Catharine College in Kentucky, earning a degree in Medical Technology. Maureen married the love of her life, Raymond Anthony Robinson in 1951. The couple settled in Memphis, where they raised their five daughters. Maureen was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become “Obie” to her 12 grandchildren. She loved holidays and family gatherings; any chance to spend time with her family meant the world to her. Maureen was known for her sharp sense of humor and nurturing spirit. She will be profoundly missed by all that knew and loved her. She was active in many organizations including Madonna Circle and Cenacle Retreat League of Memphis. She was a past president of St. Agnes Academy Alumni Association and she and her husband were original parishioners of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Raymond Anthony Robinson; her brothers Adolph, Rudolph, Randolph, and Lonnie, sister Marie; and her precious grandson Kevin Robinson Prather. She is survived by her daughters Dr. Reenie Prather (Paul E. Olson), Linda Yeaglin (Tom), Susan Zoccola (Terry), Louise Novick (Keith), and Regina Heimbach (Jim). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Shelley Prather, Anthony Zoccola, Allison Zoccola, Hailey Plyler, Britta Plyler, Katherine Campbell, Michael Long, Claire Heimbach, Lauren Brody, Jennifer Novick, and Daniel Novick; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 13 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Maureen was forever grateful to the Dominican Sisters who raised her at St. Agnes Academy.
