Maudine Ennis' Obituary
Maudine “Dink” Mancill Ennis died peacefully February 5, 2013 at age 94. She was a lifelong Memphian. She leaves her husband of 71 years, Wheaton Ennis. Their 72nd wedding anniversary would have been celebrated on February 9, 2013. She was active in the Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and served in numerous capacities. She was also active in Church Women United and served as president of Gideon Auxiliary. In later years, she was a member of Raleigh United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her garden club, Bunco club (over 60 years), and was active in former years in Rhodes College Mother’s Club. She was devoted to family and home and especially enjoyed her six grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Dr. Richard Ennis (Gina) and Dr. Kenneth Ennis (Gwen); six grandchildren, Richard Ennis, Dr. Robert Ennis (Ashley), Emily Leitch (Justin), John Ennis, Eleanor Langston (Brad), and Mary Harding (Jack); and five great-grandchildren, Wheaton, Emeri, Lyla, Gwyneth, and Miles; and a great-nephew, Les Trammel and his family. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., Friday, February 8 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. The family requests any donations be sent to the Salvation Army.
