MaryAnn Bettison's Obituary
MaryAnn Bettison, 87, of Memphis, TN, passed away on June 23, 2022.
Born on October 12, 1934 in Memphis to George and Ann Norton Holley.
MaryAnn attended Messick school for 12 yeards and graduated from Stephens College in Columba, Missouri.
She worked for Union Planters Bank and taught 2nd grade and substituted for years, she was also the Librarian at St. Dominics School for Boys. MaryAnn was a long time volunteer at St. Francis Hospital (15 years) and served 2 years as President of the Auxiliary. Served for 35 years on the Altar Guild of St. George’s Episcopal Church.
MaryAnn enjoyed vacationing with her children and grandchildren, Destin, Florida sitting on the beach watching the water, reading; also vacations in Gatlinburg or sitting on the porch in her garden.
She was a wonderful Christian and loved and cared for her husband, children and grandchildre; she also took care of her parents in the latter years of their life.
MaryAnn is survived by the love of her life, Bill Bettison, whom she married on August 27, 1955, sons, Mark and his wife Donna Bettison, Timothy Bettison; her grandchildren, Andrew Bettison, Colin and his wife Morgan Bettison and Caleb and his wife Ty, her sister, Dot and husband Walter Salabor, many nieces and nephews who called her Me Ann.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 2425 S. Germantown RD, Germantown, TN, 38138. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, for the Family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George’s Episcopal Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
