Mary Williamson's Obituary
Mary Margaret “Macy” Williamson, homemaker, volunteer, mother, and grandmother died of lung cancer Tuesday at Methodist Hospice Residence. Mrs. Williamson was born on September 25, 1927 in Okolona, MS, daughter of Cecil Ulric and Mary Foute Moore. She was an active member of Mullins United Methodist Church serving in various capacities including Sunday School Teacher, United Methodist Women, numerous Lay Committees, and Boards. She was also active in Sunday School as a long time member of the Lamplighter Class. In July of 1948, Mrs. Williamson received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Tennessee Polytechnic Institute in Cookeville, TN. She was an active supporter of Pack 75 and Troop 75 of the Boy Scouts of America chartered to Mullins. She was also an active member of the Watauga Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and took great pride and joy in her family’s history. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Williamson and leaves two sons, Jim Williamson (Sunny) of Brentwood, TN and Steve Williamson (Sheila) of Memphis, TN and four grandchildren, Allie and Matt Williamson and Clif and Chance Williamson. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar. A memorial service be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Mullins United Methodist Church in Memphis.
