Mary Welch's Obituary
Mary Jane (Zeilman) Welch, 76, of Moscow, Tennessee, born November 2, 1932 in Jennings, Missouri, passed away on October 15, 2009 after fighting for two months to recover from injuries sustained in August from an automobile accident.Jane was an active member of The Catholic Church of the Incarnation in Collierville where she participated in Ministry to the Sick, was a member of the Charismatic Movement and the Cursillo Community, and was a Eucharistic minister. Outside of the Church, she was a member of the Red Hat Society.Jane loved to travel. She and her husband took religious pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Fatima and Lourdes. Each year she looked forward to her annual trip to Gulf Shores where she would sit on the beach and play in the ocean with her grandchildren. She collected angels and put out feeders for the hummingbirds that came back to her house year after year. More than anything, though, Jane loved her family, and she had a unique gift of making each person with whom she came into contact feel special and loved. She is the widow of Dale Welch and is survived by her three daughters and son-in-laws: Becky and Scotty Harris, Laura and Wade Medlin, and Linda and Randy Bing; by 9 grandchildren: Amy Moulliet, Bobby Harris, Julie Hochman, Andrea Womack, Stephen Bing, Marrianne Harris, Timothy Bing, Charlie Medlin, and Rachel Harris; and 11 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held in the old sanctuary of the Church of the Incarnation on Bray Station in Collierville on Sunday, October 18th from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. with a Rosary to be said at 6:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19th, in the new sanctuary of the Church of the Incarnation. A nursery will be provided at both services. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Catholic Charities of Memphis.
