Mary Walker's Obituary
Mary William McDaniel Walker, 90, passed away on September 2, 2015. She was born in Good Luck, TN, where her father owned the Good Luck Grocery. She graduated from Rutherford High School and attended UT Martin and UT Knoxville, after college she moved to meet her husband and soul mate, GL Walker Jr., they married in 1945 and celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. She was a homemaker that loved home decorating and playing the piano. She was an avid bridge player and artist, but above all she loved her husband, family and friends. She was preceded by her sister, Rebecca Sue and her parents, WC “Brother” and Virginia McDaniel. She is survived by her husband, Grover L. Walker Jr., two sons, Grover L. Walker III (Susan), and Scott McDaniel Walker (Melinda), both of Memphis, four grandchildren, Lee, Kelly, Nicholas and Christopher, and four great grandchildren. She was an active member of Kingsway Christian Church until her illness kept her from attending services. The family wishes to thank the church for visiting her frequently, communion and prayers brought to the home. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 7 from 5:00-7:00pm with the funeral service on Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00am. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
