Mrs. Stroupe was my VOE teacher at Raleigh-Egypt High School in the early 1970’s. She took such a personal interest in her students, preparing us for successful careers. She made a trip to Holland, I believe, and brought a tiny wooden shoe necklace to me. She also gifted me with her hand-crocheted pink shawl, which I have to this day.She was instrumental in finding jobs for me, and also arranged for me to take the civil service test, which led to employment, where I met my husband of 40 years. Mrs Stroupe even attended our wedding!We shared a lovely friendship for a period in our lives, and I will always remember her as a gracious southern lady 💐.
