Mary Evelyn Stovall Scott's Obituary
Evelyn Scott passed away peacefully on December 3, 2019. She was born March 13, 1931 to Warren and Emma Stovall in Evansville, MS. The family later moved to Memphis where Evelyn attended Treadwell High School and met her future husband, Tom. After graduation, She became a flight attendant with Delta Airlines and then a mother and homemaker.Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Scott and her parents, siblings, Ethal Stovall James, Harry Stovall, Roy Stovall, Grady Stovall, Milton Stovall, Ben Stovall, Billy Stovall and Jack Stovall as well as grandson, Tip Scott.She is survived by her sons, Thomas H. Scott, Jr.(Quinn), Joel H. Scott (Gina), grandchildren, Bobby Scott, Hayes Scott, Max Scott, Anna Scott, and Sam Scott. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Stovall Haynie.The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 10 a.m. Afterwards there will be a Private graveside burial.The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Dogwood for the excellent care they provided for Evelyn. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Second Presbyterian Church.
