Mary Ann Stevenson's Obituary
Mary Ann Mercer Stevenson went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2010. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she dedicated her life to those she loved. She was born in Memphis, June 4, 1940 to John and Eleanor Mercer. Mary Ann attended St. Agnes Academy, Sienna College and Memphis State University. She was an accomplished cook, loved gardening, nurtured her friendships and she volunteered much of her time and energy to the Women’s Exchange of Memphis. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time in Virginia with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robin Malcolm Stevenson, MD; daughter, Eleanor Heath Stevenson of Birmingham, AL and son, Robin Malcolm Stevenson, Jr. and his wife Lisa Elizabeth of Pittsburgh, PA .Her three grandchildren, that were so special in her heart, Olivia Stevenson, Allyson Stevenson and Robin M. Stevenson, III and her sister, Patricia Flinn of NC. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard John Mercer. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, March 25 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be said at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 at St. Louis Catholic Church, burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank the many people that shared their love and prayers with Mary Ann during these last challenging years and for your never ending support during these difficult times. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials to be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society.
