Mary Squires' Obituary
Mary Sue Peters Squires left to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2012. She was born on Tuesday, August 18, 1925 in Center Point, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Betty Craig Peters. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Squires is preceded in death by her brother, Edward H. Peters; and a sister Elizabeth Copper. Mrs. Squires is survived by a son, Craig Squires of Arlington, TN and his wife Adrienne; one sister, Vivian Green of Memphis, TN; 3 grandchildren, Sarah Squires, Kristina Barker, and Kimberly Barker; nieces, Sharon Green, Diane Green McArdle, Rachel Copper LeDuke, Elizabeth Copper Brooks; nephew Steve Copper; as well as other relatives and friends. Mrs. Squires was the proud daughter and granddaughter of Methodist Ministers, and therefore moved many times as a child to different Arkansas towns but considered McCrory, AR her hometown. After attending McCrory H.S. she attended Arkansas Polytechnic College in Russelville, AR. After marrying Roland Squires she moved to Ellendale, TN which became her lifelong home. She was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. She retired from Schering-Plough as a retail customer service rep. She attended the University of Memphis and received a Bachelor’s Degree in paralegal studies at the age of 70. Mary Sue was an active member of her church and the Bartlett community. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 16th from 5:00-7:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 17, 2012, at Memorial Park Cemetery. An alternative to flowers is a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or Wesley Sr. Ministries.
