Mary C. Sciara's Obituary
Mary C. Sciara, 78, of Memphis, TN passed away on April 9, 2018 with her family by her side at her home in Vero Beach, Florida.Mary was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on September 3, 1939. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and continued her education at St. Josephs School of Nursing. She married Pete S. Sciara on July 2, 1961; they were married for 54 years. Mary worked as a Registered Nurse for St. Joseph Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St. Peters Villa for 50 years.Mary was a faithful and dedicated parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church and later joined the Church of the Holy Spirit. She was well known for her humble, witty personality, her zest for life, and her strong unwavering Christian faith. Mary lived a virtuous and caring life by willingness of helping others. She believed we should model our lives after Jesus Christ and her most important mission in this world was to make sure her family would reunite in heaven.Mary was very much loved by her family and friends and will be truly missed. She is survived by her brother Carl J. Koppeis and children, Rose (Alan), Regina (Kevin), Sam and Carl (Kishea) along with her 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and very dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Pete, and parents, Carl and Marie Koppeis.A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on April 16, 2018 at Church of the Holy Spirit. Father Michael Werkhoven will be officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery located at 5668 Poplar Ave. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Memorial Park Funeral Home (901) 767-8930. Visitation will commence on Sunday April 15th at 4 PM to be followed by a rosary at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
