Mary Rodda's Obituary
Mary Lee Ashworth Rodda, 86, died peacefully in her sleep at Highlands nursing home on February 12, 2014. She was born December 20, 1927, to Blanton Seawell and Nora Belle Ashworth. She attended Northwestern University, Southwestern at Memphis, and graduated from the DeShazo College of Music. Her friends, family, students, and church appreciated her contributions as a gifted pianist, and she was active in the DeShazo Pianists Circle. Mary Lee was a lifelong member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons and their families: Thad and Stephanie Rodda of Memphis, Warner and Debbie Rodda of Memphis, Howard and Julie Wolf-Rodda of Bethesda, Maryland, and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until the memorial service begins at 4:00, Saturday, March 8, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Bellevue Baptist Church or the Church Health Center of Memphis.
