Mary Jane Roberts Twaddle, 83, died peacefully January 11 at St. Francis Hospital. Janey was survived by her daughter Janet Langley of Branden, Miss., Cooper J. Twaddle Jr. of Memphis, daughter Grace Twain of Memphis, and sons, Danny Twaddle of Byhalia, Miss. and Russell Twaddle of Southaven, Miss.She is survived by her grandchildren Christopher & Ryan Twaddle, David & Steven Langley, Sam & Kate Shearon, and Heather, Rachel, Nichelle & Olivia Twaddle and seven great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Zelma Roberts, her brother Dick Roberts of Irving, Texas, and her sister Aletha Sue Spencer of Memphis, and is survived by her sisters, Joanne Childers of Woodruff, South Carolina and Sandra Smith of Wichita Falls, Texas.Janey was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1927 and moved to Memphis with her family when she was ten. She was a graduate of Central High School in Memphis and attended Union University and the Art Institute of Chicago. She met her husband, Cooper, at the Corps of Engineers, where she worked for many years as a draftsman and illustrator. Her home church was Union Avenue Baptist Church and she was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Rose Terrace Assisted Living Home where she was an active participant.The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials or donations be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
