Mary Sue Reed's Obituary
Mary Sue Reed, 88, passed away on September 29th, 2015 at her home. Born June 12th, 1927 in McKenzie, TN to the late Victoria Tate Cox and Earl B Cox. She was a member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Memphis, TN. She was a member of the Eastern Star Mizpah Chapter #62. She worked with Higley and Ray Orthopedic Surgeons in Memphis, and went on to pursue a career in the insurance field with Connecticut General Life Insurance. She worked with the art director at C. H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa in Memphis, TN. She worked as a real estate agent with Crye-Leike realtors. Sue is a graduate from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She was preceded in death by her son, Ross Allen Smith Jr., Her sister, Laverne Adams, and Her brother, Robert Earl Cox. She leaves her husband of 50 years, Rhon Lee Reed, her son, Christopher Lynn Smith and daughter-in-law, Ethel Lyons Smith of Olive Branch, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1:30 –2:30 PM and funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 2 at Memorial Park Funeral Home – 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN. Graveside will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children at Shriners International, 2900 Rocky Point, Tampa, FL 33607.
