Mary Oakes' Obituary
Mary Susan Oaks, 78, passed away April 30, 2015. She was born January 25, 1937 in Memphis, TN to Peggy Davis and Wilbur Coles. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church during her childhood. She graduated from Holy Names Catholic School in 1955. She was a customer service representative for Goldsmith’s downtown for many years. She was currently a member and communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, William Oakes. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Oakes and Cousins, Rose Ann Smith and Bill, Michael, and Thomas Dearing. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, May 3 and funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 4 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
