Mary Louise Muirhead's Obituary
Mary Louise Garner Muirhead, age 93, died in her home at Trezevant on August 23, 2014. She was born in Jacksonville, Texas to Mamie and Ed Garner on March 11, 1921. Mary Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, E. Eric Muirhead, M.D.; her infant daughter, Charlotte; her first born son, Eric Jr., of Houston, Texas; and her two brothers, Glen Garner and Charles Garner, of Austin, Texas. She is survived by her twin sister, Betty Sue Garner Marinis, of Midland, Texas. In addition to Betty Sue, Mary Louise is survived by her four children, Michael (Susie), of Searcy, Arkansas, Marilyn, of Memphis, Tennessee, Jan (Larry Norton), of Nashville, Tennessee, and Sara Shanley (Mike), of Dallas, Texas; and Eric’s wife, Susan of Houston, Texas. Mary Louise was blessed with five grandsons and two great grandsons. For years, she was a communicant of The Church of the Holy Communion, where she was a member of the Dandridge Guild and Directress of the Altar Guild. At Trezevant, she was President of the Exchange Club and active on many committees. The memorial service will be held in St. Edward Chapel at Trezevant on Tuesday, August 26 at 11 a.m. The family greatly appreciates the entire staff at Trezevant for the excellent care which they provided our mother.
