Mary Elizabeth Deal Moore's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Moore, 99, of Memphis, TN passed away on May 2, 2023.
Mary was born on July 5, 1923 to Vernon E. and Lucille Morrison Deal in Memphis, TN. She married Earl
O’Neil Moore on August 28, 1946.
Mary was employed as a contract specialist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers retiring in December 1993 after 33 years of service. Mary enjoyed traveling with her daughters, her garden club activities, and spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of Prescott Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and Shady Grove Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her children, Glenn Earl (Sharon) Moore of Ripley, MS, Jerry O’Neil (Deborah) Moore of
Olive Branch, MS, Patricia Ann Moore of Germantown, TN, Scott Stephens of Memphis, TN and her beloved grandchildren, Brent Moore, Sarah Parnell, Sharon Johnson, Amy Moore, Dennis Moore, and 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and daughter, Doris Jean Stephens and brother,
Vernon Deal.
Service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 2:00pm in the Fireside chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis, TN, with pastor Margaret Burnett, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in the fireside chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
